The Incomplete Sorcerer

Storyline: The Incomplete Sorcerer is an adventure set in the ancient past, when the magical arts were still used. The adventures of Alar, a young, untrained magician, desperately trying to save his love and the realm by defeating an incredibly evil master sorcerer, all while using a spell book missing the most important parts of each spell. The chaotic misfiring of the spells make Alar’s adventures both heart pounding and humorous.

Reference: Movies adapted from Young Adult novels are some of the most successful films in the entire film market, especially those about wizards, witches, and magic written for YA. Examples being the Harry Potter Series (2001+), The Chronicles of Narnia Series (2005+), Hansel & Gretel (2013), Twilight Series (2008+), and the Snow White and Huntsman Series (2012+). Arguably the most successful television series in modern history is HBO’s Game of Thrones. It had 8 successful seasons that concluded in 2020. Game of Thrones generated $2.28 billion in profit, which is roughly $285 million per season making it one of the most profitable TV series of all time.

Movies that provide an intellectually appealing explanation of the magic practiced by its characters are very appealing to the market. Examples being: The Illusionist (2006); The Sorcerer’s Apprentice (2010); The Magicians (TV Series 2015 -); The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones (2013). This book also has strong game adaptation potential. Examples of similar book, game, and film successes are Silent Hill; Warcraft; the Star Wars franchise; and The Dwarves.
